Against my better judgement, I've "volunteered" to run in the AMREF water for life half marathon on 22 March 2009.  One of my clients suggested KPMG should consider putting a team together, which I immediately took to mean the young/fit staff rather than old/less fit partners.  The team's view was that delegation has its limits and would only run if I did!  Not unreasonable, so I've had to throw my name in the hat along with some more willing but equally unfit partners.  It's a great cause, so I'm certainly up for the challenge, but concerned by the rather daunting 16 week training schedule.  I've also realised it's not a great time to start training as Sevenoaks seems to be all hills and lacking in street lights.  I've had to acquire a head torch, but have also taken the opportunity to a test out a few other gadgets - as you'd expect!
