Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As well as online fundraising on JustGiving, I also have a "Guess my time" competition (£2 a time) with a cash prize of 50%. The Winner being the person who guesses closest to my actual time.
I am running the Reading Half-Marathon for the Stroke Association for my Grandparents, Brenda & Brian, who both were affected by strokes before they passed away.
The Stroke Association are the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and to find better treatments.
There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That’s one stroke every five
minutes.
Even though you are now twice as likely to survive a stroke compared to 20 years ago, stroke is still the fourth single largest cause of
death in the UK.
The Stroke Association know we need to change how people think about stroke and challenge the myths surrounding it. They push for greater awareness of stroke and its warning signs and campaign for better stroke care.
