'Wales in a Day' for Ukraine · 25 June 2022

More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Story

I plan to cycle from Bangor in N Wales to Chepstow, a distance of c 180 miles, with a group of 30 other cyclists to do a little something to raise some precious funds for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. We will be fundraising for the Disasters and Emergency Committee. DEC unites 15 partner charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialists in different areas of disaster response, so I m confident that the funds raised will be spent wisely and according to need and priority. Unfortunately we are all becoming too aware of the appalling situation in Ukraine and the suffering of so many brave and innocent people. Although this event is not taking place until 25 Jun, the funds raised now will be put to good effect immediately by DEC. If you can spare even a tiny amount then I know then your contribution will be very gratefully received; it will also motivate me to train hard to ensure your support is properly earned for this most urgent of crisis and needs.
