Story
On Sunday 26th April 2020 I will be taking part in the London Marathon. This is something I have always wanted to do and on this occasion I am doing it as a tribute to my nephew Max who passed away on 11th August 2019 aged just 11 months, to a rare childhood cancer.
Max was diagnosed in February 2019. He endured intensive chemotherapy every 2 weeks which had miserable, heart wrenching side effects. The journey was long, the treatments were harsh and the outcome was our worst nightmare.
Shooting Star Children's Hospices supports babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across London and Surrey. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care. The care shown for Max and his family during this terrible time was absolutely amazing and I hope that you can show your support.
