Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

TLDR; Cardiff Uni research is excellent, I have glass ankles, pls help

Firstly, the important bits:

Join me in raising funds for Cardiff University's groundbreaking neuroscience and mental health, as well as cancer research. Together, we can make a significant impact on scientific advancements and improve countless lives.
Why I Care:

Having witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of this research, I am passionate about supporting Cardiff University's initiatives. Your contributions directly fund research projects that combat cancer, explore mental health links, and advance our understanding of neurological conditions.

Cancer Research
Cardiff University is actively involved in vital cancer research, including AML17, SCOPE1, and FAKTION. These projects drive innovative treatments and enhanced patient outcomes, contributing to the fight against cancer (https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/centre-for-trials-research/research/themes/cancer).

Neuroscience Studies:

Studies on early life stress and mental health, as well as neuronal plasticity and schizophrenia. These insights pave the way for better mental health support and improved therapies (https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/neuroscience-mental-health/research/publications).

Investing in the Future:

Funding also fosters the education and training of future researchers, empowering them to continue this essential work and push the boundaries of scientific knowledge.

By supporting Cardiff University's neuroscience and mental health, and cancer research, you are playing a vital role in transforming lives and shaping the future of medicine. Donate today!

As for me ...

Safe to say the past year(s) have been turbulent health and fitness wise.

Hernia operations, tearing ligaments in both ankles, and a trapped nerve which may or may not be the underlying cause of all my grief.

Well, the physio has given the all-clear, and it's time to get back on the ol' horse! I may not be hitting sub 20 min 5k's and 17+ miles but I'm sure I can manage Cardiff's half marathon, especially as it is for a good cause.

The glankles (glass ankles) are going to have to work hard to get me around the course but I couldn't go ending my Cardiff half streak after just 5 years.

I know for many of you, this isn't the first time you have supported me, and for that, I am grateful, if anyone reading has a little extra cash spare, know you have my gratitude, and if you see me hobbling about Cardiff, come say hi or even join me!

Thanks again!
