Story
Once again my challenge is just to complete the Glasgow Women's 10K - walking at a brisk pace.
During the last couple of years I have been working with several visually impaired people, some of whom rely on the assistance of guide dogs to help them carry out day-to-day activities in their lives which sighted people take for granted. Without this help, a lot of blind people would lose valuable independence.
The Guide Dogs charity receives no government funding and is totally reliant on voluntary donations. It costs over £40,000 to breed, train and support a single guide dog partnership. I think the work that the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association does is truly amazing.
