Judith’s Journey Home · 2 July 2022
On the 2nd July 2022 at 5am, a large group of us are walking from Cambridge Station to Southery, following the 'Fen Rivers Way' - 32 miles in one day!
On 5th November 2021 (fireworks night) Judith Legge was in a devastating accident on the farm and suffered severe injuries. An East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter and crew attended & airlifted Judith 32 miles to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Judith was critically ill and after lifesaving treatment in intensive care, she has made good progress and came home on 7th February to continue her recovery. Words cannot say how grateful we are to the Air Ambulance or Addenbrookes for saving Judith’s life.
The Air Ambulance is a charity, that doesn't receive any government funding. It costs £15million a year to run and each rescue costs £3,500. This is a critical service especially in rural areas with hospitals many slow roads away.
If you'd like to take part in the walk or would like to sponsor the group we would greatly appreciate it.
From everyone in the team walking Judith’s Journey Home.
