Carie's Charity Car Show

Glioblastoma is the most common type of primary, malignant brain tumour. It's very aggressive, with an average survival of less than a year and fewer than 10% of patients surviving five years.

Story

We are organising a charity car show on Sunday 22nd September for
The National Brain Appeal. There will be interesting cars for people to have a look at and we hope to raise money through a silent auction and a raffle as well as food and drink stalls and fun for the children.

Three years ago our very good friend Carie was diagnosed with an
extremely rare high grade malignant brain tumour. During these 3 years Carie has endured a major neurosurgical operation, 6 weeks of radiotherapy and 12 months of chemotherapy and following which her tumour sadly regrew. Carie endured a second neurosurgical operation and at present her scans are stable thanks to the further chemotherapy drug treatment she is currently taking and will continue to take until the drugs are no longer effective. After this there are no proven treatments for this rare brain cancer. Carie’s neuro-oncologist is passionate about finding new treatments and leads the way in conducting crucial clinical trials. This is why we are organising the Car Show to raise money to
fund vital research to try and find another effective treatment that can
benefit Carie and other brain cancer patients, now and in the future

Please donate to this vital work, or come and visit us at the Car Show and help to make this event extremely successful.

Kind regards

Sam, Nickey and Judy
