Story

After Jules has been running for a bit to find something to do during lockdowns and Lucy has been running for three years, we wanted to set ourselves the challenge of participating in our first half marathon event in Cardiff in March. We thought that it would be a great opportunity to raise funds for Ty Hafan - a leading Welsh children's charity which provides comfort, care and support to children with life-limiting conditions, along with their families. Ty Hafan is a vibrant hospice and provides diverse community programmes and short-break care. They ensure that children and their families make the most of the time they have left together. Ty Hafan is also a charity close to our hearts as we have grown up with the charity right around the corner in Sully and have previously completed fund-raising for the charity when we were little. We feel their work is extremely important and it is wonderful knowing the hard work that goes on somewhere so close to our hometown.

Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.
