Story
Like Father Like Daughter
My thought of raising money for the Prostate Cancer Charity (PCC) started 8 years ago when Dad, (Peter Golding) cycled from Vietnam across Cambodia and raised a considerable sum for the Charity. I was then and still am so very proud. 5 years prior to that, Dad had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, had surgery and is now clear of that foul disease but unfortunately 4 of his good friends weren’t so lucky.
The Prostate Cancer Charity gave Dad tremendous support and his way of paying them back was to raise funds on their behalf. Every year 40,000 men are diagnosed with this disease and the PCC cannot be faulted for their excellent work in supporting those who are seeking information and advice right through to the research in eradicating the disease.
My support will start 31st May 2017 with a four day cycle ride from London to Amsterdam with a total of 360 miles, a considerable task when you consider I have never ridden more than 25 miles at any one time.
Now for the begging part. How many people do you know who have admitted to having the disease, or worse still, do not even know the
symptoms? A father, husband, brother, son, cousin, friend or YOU? Just remember that figure of 40,000 men diagnosed with this potential killer every year. Considering the financial climate, this is possibly the worst time to ask for your support. However, you will appreciate that I am putting a great deal of effort and financial support in backing this challenge and in turn would ask for your support in sponsoring me. I would ask that you dig deep into your pockets and make your donation to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Julia-Pearce-Cycle-Ride
Your support will be much appreciated
Many thanks
Julia
