Scafell Pike, at 978 metres, is England's highest mountain and war memorial, cared for by the National Trust as a result of a gift after the war.
We will be travelling up to the Lake District the night before to get a good rest to prepare us for a reasonably early start on Saturday 6 June. We are starting out from Wasdale Head and expect the hike to take around 6 hours (fingers crossed). The route is approx 9km and is the steepest of the available routes so is expected to be challenging both on the ascent and descent.
We are hoping to meet our target of £500 and appreciate all your support.
