In 1828, church leaders came together to form a seminary to train and educate pastors.
From humble beginnings in Lexington, Georgia, to our first 100 years in Columbia, South Carolina, and a second century in Decatur, Georgia, Columbia Theological Seminary has responded to its call to form faithful, imaginative, and resilient leaders.
Even, and especially, in times such as these, Columbia remains steadfast in its commitment to provide a transformative theological education that is second-to-none.
For nearly 200 years, faithful Columbia supporters have sustained and supported our holy mission to provide a transformative theological education to those whom God has called to serve the church and the world.
On September 17th, Ever Faithful Day, the entire Columbia community will come together to show its support. This day marks the first day of classes on the Decatur campus in 1927.
