Story
In August 2022, 2 sets of sisters will climb the highest mountain in Great Britain, Ben Nevis. They will be raising funds for The Russell Hogg Trust which is donating the funds raised to BADMINTONscotland National and Development Para Squad for training and competition expenses which is an area of badminton close to all 4 women's hearts in particular Head Para Coach Kirsty. Training started at the beginning of June and the old weighted jacket and resistance bands have already made an appearance. Let the slog begin!
A bit about the Trust below
Russell was a Scottish Badminton Internationalist who hailed from Dunfermline. Scotland's third most capped male player with 117 appearances and a member of the 2002 Commonwealth Games Team who won a bronze medal in Manchester. Prior to Russell's passing in 2014 he worked for BADMINTONscotland and Scottish Disability Sport. Russell had a huge passion for disability sport and embraced the inclusion model. The Trust was established on his passing to support all his passions and ensure through fundraising events the Trust could support athletes who have dreams and goals and help fulfil their ambitions.
The Trust thanks you for taking time to read our story and for your support.
