We provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

As many of you will be aware my husband, James Rose, was diagnosed with cancer in June 2007 and sadly lost his battle with the disease in January 2008.

Jim was admitted to the Rowans hospice on 2 occasions during his illness. The first instance was in December 2007 when Jim spent 10 days receiving treatment for pain relief. The care he was given was second to none and I truly believe that if it was not for the children and me he would not have left. The second instance was in January 2008 when Jim spent 2 days there before sadly passing away. Jim did not know a lot of what was happening at this time because of the drugs he was on, but it was then that I received the help and support that I needed at this awful time.

The Rowans hospice is mainly funded by donations from the public. The services they supply are not only for the patients but for their families as well and the support does not end when a person dies.

On the 21st of June 2008 I will be doing a 12mile moonlit walk in aid of the Rowans hospice. I want to raise as much money as possible for a place that is close to my heart and am asking for your help.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Rowans Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Julie Rose xx
