RSPCA's Walk to Remember 2026
Campaign by RSPCA (RCN 219099)
Walk To Remember is a flexible fundraising event where individuals, families and communities walk In Memory of a beloved pet on National Pet Memorial Day (Sunday 13 September).

Story

Losing a pet is like losing a cherished member of the family, and we are so grateful for the love and comfort Smudge brought into our lives.

Pet grief is deeply real, yet it can be misunderstood, and many people are left to carry that heartbreak quietly. That's why Graham and I are proud to support the RSPCA's Not Just A Pet campaign and take part in "Walk to Remember 2026".

On 13 September 2026 at 11am, we will be walking Smudge’s favourite route through Epping Forest to honour the bond we shared with our little man and to celebrate the memories that will always stay with us. The walk will take approximately 1 hour and we invite everyone who has lost a beloved pet or knew Smudge to come along and join us.

This event is a meaningful way to recognise pet grief, while also helping the RSPCA continue its important work for animals in need.

In 2016 at 6 years old, Smudge raised hundreds of pounds for the RSPCA by taking part in the ‘Big Walkies’ campaign and it seems only fitting we should try to do the same.

Your support would mean so much. Please donate if you can and help turn treasured memories into practical support for vulnerable animals. Together, we can show that pet grief matters and that every act of kindness makes a difference. Our fundraising goal is £100.00 and we are truly thankful for any contribution you can give.
