Around 18 months ago I attempted to 'pop out' for a 3k run. I got 3 minutes in and had to lean against a lamp-post, gasping for breath, looking to passers by like I'd just finished a decent race - whilst coughing over the voiceover on my app, which insisted on announcing to the world that I'd acutally managed just under half a kilometer.

Much sweat and many runs later and I have now signed up for the Oxford Half Marathon in October.

Given this history, and the fact that incompetence in physical activity runs in the family (just ask the Astalls) it is only right that everybody sponsors me for this feat of endurance and raises money for a good local cause, Forever Manchester.

Of course every little helps but essentially, the more the better.
