Story
In April 2026, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause. I took part and ran my first half marathon last year and loved it so much and the sense of achievement, I felt determined to take on the challenge again. By no means am I a natural runner so this will be a real challenge for me.
I really want to make my efforts go even further and I am raising money to make a difference to the lives of children living on the very edge of society. Just like most people can say, it’s been a tough year but that in no means comes close to how tough it is for the children that Children on the Edge raise funds for.
For over 35 years Children on the Edge have worked alongside local partners in more than 18 countries supporting thousands of children to safely live, play, learn and to thrive. To provide education, emergency response and protection to some of the of the most marginalised children around the world. These are often children displaced, discriminated, in poverty or exploited.
What makes Children on the Edge special is that it works in some of the places where help simply doesn't reach — like the refugee camps in Bangladesh and remote villages in Uganda. Restoring a sense of childhood, dignity, and hope — even in the most desperate of conditions. Transforming neighbourhoods into safe spaces, giving education to those denied their right to learn and training refugee teachers and supporting local parents to provide sustainable education and living.
They have supported over 15,500 children to have access to high quality education in safe, colourful classrooms, 730 trained local teachers giving children the care and support they need and 10,000 people reached with emergency support.
Just £10 can educate a child in a safe space for a month.
I would be so grateful if you could support me in my efforts to fundraise for such an incredible cause. Your donation could help to transform lives. Helping to create a world in which every child can flourish and thrive no matter where they live and irrespective of the challenging circumstances they face.
