Story

I am doing this walk in memory of my sister Barbara, who passed away last year in St. Ann's hospice.

After nursing there myself for almost 30 years before retirement, I now got to see the other side through the eyes of a patients family.

The care & the compassion that she recieved was second to none. After seeing her in absolute unbearable pain as I attempted to care for her at home, it was a relief and comfort to see the hospice staff able to get her pain under control and for her to spend her final days pain free. Barbara was so happy in the hospice in her final weeks, she felt truly spoilt and cared for, from her daily tipple to the wrap around care. For this I will be eternally grateful to St. Ann's for allowing me quality time with my sister and giving her the dignity she deserved.

I have pledged to raise £100 for this charity that relies so much on donations.
