Story
On the 12th September I’ll be walking 20 miles to raise money for Climbing Out. I’ll be walking to Windsor Castle and back
In 2017 I went on one of climbing outs 5 day programs and it changed my life. That year was not going well and I would have continued to spiral downhill without their help
I had my first seizure in 2014 a couple of days after my 16th birthday. The seizures took away from me everything I loved. I couldn’t cope from going from a “normal” teenager to a teenager who was always in hospital.
When I went on the program I wasn’t treated any differently like I was normally treated in everyday life. I could do all the activities which included water sports which I missed so much.
The past couple of years haven’t been good, I spent a lot of days in ITU and hospital but rather than thinking I can’t do anything I now think How can I
I’m also doing this as a very close friend who I met on my Climbing Out program died this year. She also had epilepsy so it was great we both could support each other. The route was originally 10 miles but if she knew I wasn’t challenging myself she would kill me! So I doubled the route so it would be a challenge.
I can’t thank Climbing Out enough, so the least I can do is raise money so other people can be helped.
