Story
Covid 19 restrictions have put a stop to the plans for our annual fundraising hike on the 12th September 2020, but in true Climbing Out spirit we asked, 'How can we?' and came up with the idea of an Adaptive Tri Challenge!!
A number of previous Climbing Out participants will be joining Kelda (the founder of Climbing Out) on each leg, aiming to complete a 15km hike in the Shropshire Hills, a 50km kayak on the River Severn and a 60km fixed cycle at Pengwern Boat Club in Shrewsbury. The objective of the challenge is to raise awareness about Climbing Out, to motivate and inspire others who've been through mental or physical trauma, and to spread the message about how we all can adapt, overcome and use setbacks to make us stronger.
We'll also be raising funds for Climbing Out as well as giving the Climbing Out participants involved a goal to focus on through lockdown and the challenges faced through Covid19. Participants will be creating their own individual fundraising pages linked to this Campaign page too.
We'd also like to invite anyone to become part of the ATC by completing your own hike, paddle or cycle on the 12th Sept too. For more details contact Kelda on keldawood@climbingout.org.uk
And of course we'll be back with an even better Fundraising Hike in 2021!!
The 12th September is set to be a great day, despite Covid19, and we'd love you to support or get involved.
Thank you from the Climbing Out Team:)
