Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When I visited India a few years ago, I was struck by the warmth, kindness and generosity of the people.  Despite many of them not having much money, everyone was happy and positive and had 'good karma'.  It made a change from living in the west, where living standards are higher and yet we often want more, and I really learnt a lot from the people I met.

Having seen the poverty and health issues that some of the children experience, I really wanted to give something back.  That's when Future Hope was recommended to me by a friend who has visited the charity in Kolkata.  They do an amazing job looking after children who would otherwise have no homes or education, and I'd like your help in raising money so we can give hope and happiness to lots more children. 

I have only ever taken part in one sponsored run in my life, and that was 5k more than 15 years ago!  I don't plan on making a habit of it, so please support me as generously as you can on this occasion, as it's unlikely I'll be asking for sponsorship again in the future ;-))
