London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

Our incredible London Marathon team are taking on 26.2 miles to raise funds to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into finding a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.

Story

Crohn's and Colitis are lifelong conditions. They are painful, debilitating, and many people suffer in silence throughout their lives.

This is my motivation for this fundraising challenge! Everyday Crohn's disease plays a part in our family's life, whether it's watching the silent suffering, re-navigating our daily schedules or managing the limitations on family activities or parental duties due to symptoms. Chris was diagnosed in his early 20's but recalls the pain and symptoms long before, after a partial colectomy 10 years ago he manages the condition through medication. Without a cure this disease goes on to affect half a million people in the UK.

I have now taken the leap to put all those miles that I tread the road and mountain to good use! I am taking part in the 2022 TCS London Marathon to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of.

Please donate and support what you can! I am hoping the short term pain of running a marathon can support some long term gain to all our suffers of Crohn's Disease in the UK.
