Story

I'm running the 2022 Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 2 October as one last hoorah to my running efforts over the years, while my knees will still let me!  I started my training with a 'Couch to 5k' plan as soon as I recovered from Covid in April.  However, I put off fundraising until now as I really didn't feel I would get through the half marathon training plan at times but, having got my first 'long run' under my belt, I'm now feeling a little more confident.

As many of you will know, I've been working at Cardiff University for the past 3 years and during this time I've learnt about their amazing research into cancer.  Unfortunately, during the recent pandemic, we lost a dear friend and fellow Côr y Gleision chorister, Margaret Slocombe.  Margaret was always the life and sole of the party and was such a loyal friend (she also made the best bombay potatotoes) and we miss her very much.   I will be running and fundraising in her memory with all funds going to cancer research.  Any amount you donate is appreciated and will be going towards an excellent cause so thank you in advance.
