Story
This classy photo was taken last year with my good friends Pete and Nicki. I organised a fancy dress party in aid of MacMilllan. So this year I have decided to run the Dundee Marathon to raise money for Cancer research.
The main reason is to try and raise money but also in memory of my mum Sue Williamson, who although sadly lost her battle with Cancer Dec 2003, undoubtedly was given more time with us thanks to the treatment she received.
My brother James and sister Jennie have also unfortunately inherited my mum's genetic condition and although thankfully are clear of cancer have both got benign tumours. Jennie has one in her head and James in his neck and has had two successfully removed from his stomach.
If it wasn't for the advances in research they may not have been able to be monitored so closely.
There are others I would like to remember. My grandpa Jock Williamson, Al's uncle Derek and my friend Fran Fairgrieve.
I'm sure many of you know someone who has had cancer or have had their life touched in some way by it. So here is a great opportunity to support this charity and its amazing work to help save lives and beat Cancer.
If you would like to come and support me and shout encouragement/abuse at me you can on Sunday 29th July from 9.30 am. I don't think that I will be as fast as Cheetarah but I'll do my best! I managed a 26hr labour with Daniel so I reckon I know what might be harder but I'll ket you know.
