The Girl Project
Campaign by Rise Africa UK (RCN 1148744)
Supporting girls with sanitary pads and underwear so they can go about their lives with confidence

Story

A number of Rise Africa girls, living in and around the Moshono region in Tanzania, have started puberty and are nervous about their menstruation, some are shy and just want to hide it, but those who do talk share their situation with Penina. These young girls do not have money to buy sanitary pads and instead use old cloth or anything they can find, but these methods are unhygienic, often embarrassing and can lead to infections. We would like to help all the Rise Africa girls who are at this stage in their lives by providing them with two packets of sanitary pads per month, costing £2 per month, £24 a year per girl. Currently, 30 girls are at this stage in their life which would cost £60 a month., £720 a year.
