Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

At Wightlink (where Keith works) we support many charities by assisting their travel across the Solent.   The 'Swim the Solent' event on August 8th 2022 for the Ian Pratt MND charity caught our eye and we thought it would be great to challenge ourselves and at the same time to help such a worthy cause.

Jo (36) is a keen swimmer but recently became a mum and hasn't had much opportunity to swim open water for the last few years so she will have to work up to this 5km challenge.

Keith (62) started open water swimming during Covid when the pools were shut.  5km is much further then he had ever swum until he began training for Swim the Solent.   Swimming in the sea will be another level of challenge having to cope with waves also.  Jo thinks he can do it so he's giving it his best shot!

For both of us this is a genuine personal challenge which we need to work towards.

Update June 22:  the challenge just got harder as Keith caught Covid earlier in the month and has been unable to train for 4 weeks.   Training has restarted so hoping to catch back up in time for the 8th.

Please support us raising funds for MND.
