A year ago today was a bittersweet day - the then latest addition to our family arrived in the morning (gorgeous Phoenix💙) and in the evening we found out our lovely mum had cancer.
We thought it could be treated but just a few days later we learnt that it was terminal and we were referred for palliative care from St Catherine’s Hospice.
Everyone we met along the way treated us and mum with the utmost care, the kind of care you normally only receive from those closest to you. We really felt like they were with us on our terrible journey.
Everyone we met was truly amazing - it takes a special kind of person to work for STCH - it’s not a job - it’s a vocation.
STCH relies on donations to keep running and thanks to Covid, this year has been a more difficult one for them too.
For this very reason, we have signed up for the STCH midnight walk in December.
The more you lovely people donate, the further we will walk. I know that times are hard, but you don’t need to dig deep, all contributions will be gratefully received. Every £1 adds up!
Nothing can bring back Mum but we can take some comfort knowing that everyone who donates to this fantastic cause is helping another family experience the same care and support that we felt in our hour of need.
