Story
Having been diagnosed with Stage 3, Small Cell Lung Cancer in February with the added bonus of progressive emphysema, I’m grateful to be in the position to take part in the Walk One Mile a Day challenge throughout October to raise funds for lung cancer support and research.
I’m walking for everyone affected by lung cancer — those, like me, currently facing it, those who selflessly provide support and care, those who have lost the battle, and the families and friends who carry on in their memory.
I’ll walk a mile every day, rain or shine, and all the money raised through this challenge will help fund life-saving research, provide comfort and care to patients, and ensure no one has to face this disease alone.
Those who know me will attest that I’m not doing this as some fitness test — I’m doing it to make a difference. I’m walking for those who can’t, and for the hope of a better future.
Every donation, large or small, brings us one step closer to a world where lung cancer is caught earlier, treated more effectively, and survived more often.
Thank you for your support ❤️
