Story
We are members of Kennet Lodge No 4414, which falls under the Province of Berkshire, which is a masonic group that is based at Sindlesham Court, Sindlesham and is part of the United Grand Lodge of England, charity number 1164703.
To celebrate the end of our centenary year and to help raise funds for the Berkshire 2023 Festival we are organising a special charity event – Kennet By Any Means.
The format is simple, travel from the source to the mouth of the River Kennet by any means – cycle, paddleboard, kayak, boat, hang glider, walk, run, etc. etc. etc. - to raise money for the Berkshire 2023 Festival for the Masonic Charitable Foundation through sponsorship and donations.
The participants tackling each stage are as follows:
72km
Nigel Beckford, Paul, Harrold and Mark Rogers – all cycling
Steve Gadd – 60km Cycle and 12km canoe
Tom Greenham 60km cycle and 12km paddle board
12km
Peter Christmas, Garry George and Trish George all walking
2km
Keith Barnes, Tina Barnes, Robin Kent and Julie Kent – all walking
All funds raised will go towards the target set out by Lodges within the Province of Berkshire for the 2023 Festival to raise £1,900,000 for the Masonic Charitable Foundation. To date Kennet Lodge have raised £20,250.00 towards this appeal collectively. This event is the final fundraising event to get us to our target.
