We want to build a centre where dogs who have been lost or abandoned and are due to be euthanised in local pounds are given a second chance at life. We have to raise all funds ourselves.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing this quite simply because I'm fed-up being fat. I have yo-yo dieted so many times and I'm hoping that my four-legged friends at Dundalk Dog Rescue can help to keep me motivated. I want to lose weight, get fit and raise money for this cause close to my heart all at the same time.

My goal is to train for and run a 5k by the end of September, hopefully dropping at least 2 dress sizes on the way. I plan to eat healthily, train for the 5k three times a week and achieve 10,000 steps every day.

It's a win-win for the dogs. I'm hoping that my friends and family will donate and help to keep me motivated but I also promise that each and every time I slip I will donate £5. My husband Aidan has said that he will donate £100 if I don't slip.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the campaign

We want to build a centre where dogs who have been lost or abandoned and are due to be euthanised in local pounds are given a second chance at life. We have to raise all funds ourselves.

About the charity

DDR is an entirely voluntary, non-profit organisation set up in 2005 by a group of ordinary, like-minded people. Our aim is to do whatever is possible to rescue unwanted dogs from our local dog pounds and give them a second chance at life. Over the last 5 years alone we have helped save the lives of over 3,000 dogs.
