I will be batting for 12 hours, to support and raise much needed money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, in memory of my amazing mother-in-law Sandra VanDort-Murphy.

Pancreatic cancer is in need of increased funding as currently UK funded cancer research in this area is overall only around 1%. Survival rates for Pancreatic cancer have barely improved in the last 40 years. Other cancers have shown that with Increasing awareness and raising more funding for research, that this can have an enormous impact on overcoming the disease. The Pancreatic Cancer Reasearch Fund are an amazing charity that raise awareness and are a voice for sufferers. Their 3 main objectives are 1. To raise funds for research into improving early detection, new treatments, and ultimately a cure. 2.To encourage more of the research community to get involved. 3. To promote the need for more research funding by the major cancer research funding organisations.
