I was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2010 at the age of 55. This came as a great shock to me. I received excellent support from Coeliac UK. There is no care or medication for coeliac disease. It is managed by strict adherence to a gluten free diet. Therefore, the charity's continuing support even more essential to newly diagnosed people now there are cutbacks on gluten free prescribing. Coeliac UK also fund research into coeliac disease with the aim of finding a cure which will be of great assistance to people with coeliac disease.
