To celebrate my 50th birthday i have decided to take on the challenge of cycling 170 miles on The Way of the Roses from Morecambe to Bridlington over 3 days. We will be setting off from Morecambe on Friday 5th September and arriving (hopefully) in Bridlington on Sunday 7th September. I have managed to get a group of Friends and Family together to take up the challange. Some of us haven't cycled since we were kids! The riders that are joining me are my brother Stephen Wright my cousins husband Jason Lewis, top Atkinson's Fish Fryer Matt McCann and his Dad, John McCann, ( 60 odd years old but the fittest by far) and friends Keith (cycling on a budget)Coxhill, Kevin( i keep falling off my bike)Thompson and Stuart( i've cycled to Brighton in the dark)Udall. Another friend David Higgens( Mr Fixit) is giving up his time to provide vehicle support and we are very grateful to him.
As we are doing this challenge i thought it would be fitting to raise some money for St John's Hospice in Lancaster who cared so amazingly for my Dad, Colin Wright in the last few days of his life nearly 2 years ago. They gave quality and compassionate care when it was most needed and my Dad and our family were extremely grateful for everything they did in a very difficult time. They really need the money, so please give generously if you can.
Thank You
Kevin Wright
