Kev Ashes - Running the London Marathon for Crohn's and Colitis

Kevin Ashes is raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Our incredible London Marathon team are taking on 26.2 miles to raise funds to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into finding a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.

Story

Crohn's and Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon to support the charity and your donation can help Crohn's and Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.

My wife lives with Crohn’s Disease, and I’ve witnessed first-hand the daily challenges, uncertainty, and pain that come with living with an invisible illness. Despite her condition, she has dedicated her career to helping others as a specialist nurse for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) - supporting patients, families, and healthcare teams across the UK with Crohn’s and Colitis.

The charity has helped us personally when they funded her master’s degree in advanced clinical practice. By providing her with this further education it empowered her with the advanced knowledge and skills to better serve her patients and improve outcomes for so many living with IBD.

I’m taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon in 2026 to give back to this great charity and ask kindly for sponsorship to show your support.

By supporting this cause, you’re helping to:

- Fund ground-breaking research that improves the lives of people affected by Crohn's and Colitis.

- Campaign and advocate for earlier diagnosis, better access to health services and improved standards of living for people with IBD

- Provide practical, emotional, and financial support to those affected

- Empower nurses and specialist medical staff through education and training

- Raise awareness about conditions that are often misunderstood or overlooked

- Provide high-quality information and support through their Helpline services

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in the lives of over half a million people in the UK living with Crohn’s or Colitis.

Let’s fight for better care, more understanding, and a brighter future for those living with IBD. Please sponsor me and be part of this journey.

Thank you for your support.
