The cancer was so severe it became too difficult to look after Guy in comfort at home with all the equipment he needed.  I'll never forget the day he went into Dorothy House just two weeks before he died.  When the ambulance came to collect him, I drove my own car as quickly as possible so that I could welcome him when he arrived.  As I was driving, the sun was shining and as I prayed I felt God say 'I go to prepare a place for him'.  This had double meaning for me - a place in heaven and a place of comfort in Dorothy House.  When I got there the sun was shining through the patio doors of Guy's bedroom, and the sense of relief was too immense to describe. Everything that was needed to help him through those last days was there and the staff were wonderful.  We practically moved in as a family and we were always made welcome.  We barely left Guy's side, even though staff were always on hand, and I know that Guy himself was so much more secure.  My hope is that should others be in that same position of need, they too, can have the help and comfort that was provided to help them through.
