It started out the same way most of my adventures do, a few drinks with mates, followed by casually inviting myself along on their holiday...

Cody had signed up to do the Berlin marathon and he and Lex were going to go to Oktoberfest after. Admittedly, I was more focused on the Oktoberfest part of the trip, but after further discussion (and a few more drinks), Lex and I decided to sign up for the marathon too. 

I've had the idea of doing a marathon in my head for a little while now, so it wasn't a completely out of the blue thought. Then, when Lex said it was a lifelong goal of hers and that she wanted to raise funds for the MS Society at the same time, the deal was sealed. Berlin here we come!

Lex and I actually became friends when a bunch of us went to Singapore for a midnight fun-run/wild weekend away, so we like to think that we are carrying on our "international athlete" holiday tradition. 

It won't be easy, so I'd be so grateful for your support to keep me motivated! I'll be posting training updates here and we will be holding various fundraising events in Perth in the lead up to d-day, so that we can all have a bit of fun :-)
