Isle of Wight Challenge 2021 · 10 July 2021 to 11 July 2021 ·

The Eddie Byers Fund was created to transform lives through learning. It was created in memory the late chief executive of English UK, who was passionate about the transformative power of education, to help aspiring students study English for better employment, education and community life. Eddie Byers Fund has supported refugees and asylum seekers gain employment, enter education and access essential services and feel a part of their communities in the UK. It has also funded teacher training in Tanzania to help young pupils attend high school, which is taught in English, and English teaching in Palestine

Story

Our team consists of staff, family and friends of ETC International College, Bournemouth. On May 2nd we’ll be walking/running 26km along the Isle of Wight coastal path to raise money for the Eddie Byers fund. The fund was set up to transform lives through learning and provides English lessons to help aspiring students improve their education, employment prospects and integration into community life, both in the UK and overseas. The value of education is important to us all, so we are pleased to be able to contribute in a small way to this cause. Thank you for your support. All donations are greatly appreciated! We’re looking forward to the challenge on May 2nd!
