Our team consists of staff, family and friends of ETC International College, Bournemouth. On May 2nd 2020 we plan to walk/jog/run 26km along the Isle of Wight coastal path to raise money for the Eddie Byers fund. The fund was set up to transform lives through learning and provides English lessons to help aspiring students improve their education, employment prospects and integration into community life, both in the UK and overseas.The value of education is important to us all, so we are pleased to be able to contribute in a small way to this cause.Thank you for your support. Coronavirus Update :

The challenge has now been postponed from May 2nd to September 5th, although this may change again depending on the Coronavirus situation.Team ETC is still keen to participate, but in the meantime we must focus on the health and well-being of our members and their families and will not be organising any fundraising events in the near future. Many thanks to our supporters for their generosity so far.

FURTHER CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - April 18th 2020 :

The IOW Challenge on Sept 5th has also now been cancelled because of the coronavirus. Team ETC is therefore considering a 26km walk locally in order to honour the generous donations of our sponsors - it’ll still be a challenge, albeit not on the Isle of Wight! We will have to wait until after the lockdown before this can be arranged, but will keep everyone informed of any further details. In the meantime, keep safe, fit and well everyone!

November 5th 2020 : Revised challenge - 500 kms!

The local 26km walk was planned for November 28th, but had to be cancelled due to the second lockdown. So, in order to complete a challenge by the end of 2020 and because we can’t walk as a team due to the lockdown restrictions, we’ve changed the challenge to a cumulative effort to walk 500 kms by November 30th 2020! The ETC team, family and friends, will be walking as and when they can and we’ll be keeping a tally of the kms on our ETC website. Let’s hope that this time we can see this through! Many thanks to all our participants, supporters and sponsors. During November we walked a collective total of 932.76 kms!! A fantastic effort by all involved - the equivalent of Bournemouth to Ben Nevis or Bordeaux!
