David and Donald are joining together to support the Big iMRI Appeal. The appeal aims to provide the first ever MRI scanner that can be used during operations at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Virgin Money Giving London Wheelchair Mini-Marathon on 22nd April, once again doing the last 3 miles from The Old Billings Gate near the Tower of London to the official finish in The Mall, with the highlight of Blackfriars Underpass along the way!

This time, I would like to raise money for a particular appeal from Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham to enable them to purchase an iMRI in-surgery scanner. This type of scanner enables surgeons to locate brain tumours with great accuracy during operations and save the lives of children with brain tumours.

I have been thinking of many various causes I would like to support but to me this appeal has stood out because when I heard about it, I was struck how much the surgeons need the scanner and that it will help save lives of many children.

To those of you who might be surprised by my choice I want to say: I am surprised too! But my heart tells me it's the right decision and so I've got to stick with it!

Thanks for sticking with me and for your support - it means a LOT!
