Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

My spring running challenges are...

Manchester Marathon on 7 April 2019 - aiming for my best time
London Marathon on 28 April 2019 - aiming to finish without injury (unlike last time)
St Illtyds Ultra Marathon on 5 May 2019 - aiming to finish!

Why I'm raising money for MS-UK...

My Mum was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis before I was born: our family lived with her struggle as a result of her symptoms and declining health for nearly 30 years, and have been missing her in our lives for 15 years now.

I started running in 2016 to help me lose weight (and keep it off for good!) and wanted to run the London Marathon as a tribute to my Mum in 2017. MS-UK enabled this lifelong dream to come true for me and, thanks to the generous donations received, I was able to help 'Team Purple' raise much needed funds for the charity’s work in supporting many people living with MS.

Having run before for MS-UK, I'm very aware of how this event is vital in contributing to the charity's fundraising each year. I'm thrilled to be a part of the 2019 team and donning the purple once again.

I’ve run 4 marathons since London in 2017, but undertaking 2 marathons in 3 weeks will be a massive test for me, and adding my first 50km multi-terrain ultra marathon into the mix is, well, a bit nuts really!

I didn't realise for a while that the London Marathon would be at the very end of April this year due to a late Easter. Just a week to recover between this race and the ultra will be a big ask, but I'll give it all a good go anyway!
