Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Rupert, Shelley, Renata, Andrew and I have decided to set ourselves a challenge; we’re taking on The Yorkshire Three Peaks on May 26th!
This challenge sees us (hopefully!) scale the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, continuously, in under 12 hours! Yikes!
We have decided to raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart: Crohn’s & Colitis UK. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, one of the 2 main forms of inflammatory bowel disease, which can cause ulceration and inflammation in the colon.
For people living with Chrohn’s or Colitis, it can have a huge impact on their day-to-day living. Currently there are no known cures for these life-long conditions.
When first diagnosed, I suffered from extreme weight loss and malnourishment, spending time in and out of hospital.
2 years on, I am now on immunosuppressants to help keep my condition under control. The effects of my condition have also caused liver problems, b12 deficiency, and chronic fatigue.
The positive is that Colitis focusses me to live as healthily as I can. I now feel stronger than ever, and armed with the right information and lifestyle choices, I am able to continue to win my battle against Colitis.
I thank Crohn’s and Colitis UK for the amazing work they’re doing in trying to find a cure, supporting those who are diagnosed, and raising awareness.
This is where we need your help. With your support, we can enable Crohn’s and Colitis UK to carry out crucial research, which will one day hopefully mean they can find a cure. Thank you for taking time to read my story and thank you in advance for any and all donations.
