Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Jo and I have decided to put on our running shoes and run the Hackney Half Marathon to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts: Autism Angels. My wonderful friends Cleo Hetherington, Will Irvine and Peter O'Neil will be joining us :)

Autism Angels work with parents and professionals to improve the lives of children on the autistic spectrum. They are a registered Charity with centres in the North and South of England and offer a range of programmes and events to support any individual or families needs.

A child with autism or other additional needs affects the entire family. Families can feel isolated and lonely; with no one to turn to. Autism Angels work with the whole family to offer advice and support, working with the horses. Working with the horses helps to develop communication skills amongst the family and enables them to find ways to make everyday life easier and more enjoyable. The children's confidence and independence grows and they become able to fulfil their potential.

Any donation would be so gratefully received and enable Autism Angels to continue their amazing work changing the lives of these children and their families.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Autism Angels works with horses to connect and empower children on the autism spectrum and as well as those with other additional needs including vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds. We work closely with the whole family and school creating a joined-up approach for everyone. We provide training and support to parents, siblings and teachers as well as teach businesses to be more inclusive of, and accessible to, those with additional needs.
