Story
I have decided to be brave for 1 single day & do a sponsored skydive for Myeloma UK on the 21st September. I believe it's the least I can do when my dads a brave soldier every single day without ever complaining & always having such a positive outlook on absolutely everything In life.
My dad was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (IGD Lambda Light Chains) a year ago now, at the young age of 57. it is a rare incurable cancer of the plasma cells found in the bone marrow. It attacks bones, it destroys the immune system, it damages the kidneys, its relentless & keeps on coming back stronger & stronger. Since being diagnosed my dad has undergone radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, along with various other treatment along the way. Also taking part in a clinical trial to therefore help others.
Myeloma UK is the only charity supporting this disease. 97% of people have never heard of Multiple Myeloma & neither had I until a year ago. There is no known cure so there is an urgent need to discover new treatments, however because of more research, new treatments, better awareness & quicker diagnosis survival rates have increased but there really is along way to go. Much more still needs to be done, this is where you come in please make a donation today.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this and I genuinely thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your donations as you are helping me, help this charity that is at the centre of my heart
Love
Laura Humphries
