Story
Hadrian Hikers are a team of parents, friends and family of children who attend the wonderful Hadrian School. We are hiking 24 miles along the iconic Hadrian's Wall to raise much needed funds for Hadrian School through the registered charity 'The Friends of Hadrian School'. Hadrian School is a fantastic specialist provision which caters for the needs of pupils aged between 2 and 11 years with a range of additional needs including complex, severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. It opened in September 1999 so this academic year there were lots of celebrations and fundraising events organised to honour it's 20th year. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic much of this, sadly had to be postponed or cancelled. The Hadrian Hikers are determined to still do what we can to support this wonderful school through these difficult times and to celebrate 20 years of the most nurturing, warm and dedicated place for our children to learn. We are still unsure if we are able to participate in the official event but we will all still be walking 24 miles on 18th July, possibly in a different location, alone or in socially distanced groups. The challenge will go ahead! xx
