Nothing boring, just a bit of a background of me: I’ve always been a lover of water since I was a baby, been a swimmer since the age of 5 and for the last 3 years I’ve been working with kids as a swimming instructor. Water is a huge part of my life and I can not image it without being able to splash around, swim lenghts and lengths or just float on top of the sea and watch the sky. Water takes care of both my body and mind; it comforts and soothes me and keeps my body in shape. Some can definitely say it is my passion, and I would like to be able to help others experience the same.
Why am I doing this?: SwimTayka’s purpose and story behind it touched my heart as people in Jamaica -in spite of having water all around their island- had no actual access to a public pool or swimming lessons until recently, and this has led to multiple incidents of drowning. We would be there not just for the children’s advantage but we would work closely with Jamaican swimming instructors so that they can take over and continue to educate children about safety without the help of SwimTayka.
For me to be a part of this amazing experience and give smiles and confidence to those who are not fortunate enough to afford to learn such a basic life skill, I need to raise £1500 that would cover the pieces of equipment and it would also donate to SwimTayka and Likkle Swimmers as well so that they can continue what they’ve been doing for the last couple of years!
Thank you very much for considering donating and all the littlest amounts would be an enormous help to bring this to life!
