We provide essential support and hope to empower and rebuild lives in Syria

Story

From Thursday 24th September until Sunday November 1st, I'm going to try and run a total of 170 miles around the High Peak. That's an average of 8km a day.

I'll be doing this to raise money for High Peak Foodbank (Charity Number: 1159875) to support families in the High Peak during the COVID-19 pandemic and Syria Relief (Charity Number: 1143797) to support families who have left their homes due to the ongoing Syrian civil war and are now living in tents inside Syria and in the neighbouring countries of Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan.

Every penny donated will be split 50:50 between the two charities. JustGiving doesn't allow the function to be split at donation level, so it will initially go to Syria Relief who will then donate 50% of everything raisedd to High Peak Foodbank.

170 miles is the distance between Aleppo, Syria and Arsal, Lebanon - countless families have had to make this journey by foot, crossing the Anti-Lebanon Mountain range, to reach safety. Many who tried this journey froze to death. Suzanne and her children are just one family who made this journey, who Syria Relief support. https://www.facebook.com/syriareliefcharity/posts/2947371592044534
