Hi, Thanks for visiting our page.

 

My name is Bhaven and over the coming months, me and a close group of friends will be undertaking a series of challenges and events in order to raise some money for the Meningitis Trust.

 

In 1988, I lost my sister to meningitis and my family have been working tirelessly to raise money and awareness for meningitis, in an attempt to combat this terrible illness, and avoid other people experiencing the same pain. February 2013 will mark Bhavini's 25 anniversary, and we hope to raise a considerable amount of funds and awareness for the charity over the coming months.

 

Meningitis is a horrible illness which affect 10 people every day. Out of those 10 people, 1 person will die and 2 people will suffer long term illnesses. The disease is especially common in students and that is partly because not enough people know what to look out for. Part of the campaign is dedicated to spreading awareness of the disease and it’s symptoms to as many people as possible.

 

Most of our events will take place in and around Leicester and we will be working quite closely with the University of Leicester Student’s Union, along with some societies at the university. The events will take place from October through to February and we will post the events both on this page and on the Facebook page when we decide on them.
