It helps to educate young people about the futility of violence in our streets. We produce education packs and resources to encourage positive and responsible behaviour among young adults.

Story

On 5th July 2009  Adam Rogers was killed in Blackburn Town Centre and the lives of his family and friends changed forever.

The night Adam was killed he was trying to act as a peacemaker. His only mistake was trying to keep a young man away from an area where his friend was being attacked. The steps that led up to the incident were very basic and so senseless.

The young man who eventually killed Adam did not like being kept away from the fight, and as Adam tried to shepherd him away he stopped, turned and hit Adam in the face. The punch was so hard it knocked Adam out before he hit the ground. This meant he could not break his fall and the fatal damage was done as his head hit the ground.

Adam died a few hours later at the hospital. A senseless death for nothing - just macho posturing and too much drink.

EAH Consequences has been set up in Adam’s Memory.

The aims of the charity are:

To advance the Education of the public, (particularly those under the age of 25,) on the dangers of violence and the serious consequences of these actions. To promote learning about individual responsibilities highlighting the consequences of anti-social and violent behaviour for victims and people who carry out violent acts.

1. Provide Tutorial materials (DVD & Worksheets) to be used in schools and colleges to raise awareness and to develop more responsible attitudes. The material will be based on the story of Adam Rogers. Adam was killed in a random act of violence whilst on a night out with friends. Focus groups from local colleges have already agreed to contribute to the preparation of these materials.

2. To advance the education of young people about the issues of organ donation, highlighting the positive consequences of individuals making their wishes clear.

  • Encourage young people to look at the donor website and find out about regeistering to be a donor.
  • Interview with the transplant co-ordinators to discuss the donor issue encouraging young people to talk to their family and make sure their personal views are known.

3. To promote the education of young people under the age of 25 specifically in the area of Football Coaching by awarding scholarships to support the gaining of coaching qualifications

The work of the charity cannot be sustained however, without ongoing fundraising and continuous donations to support all of this great work.

Their website tells Adam's story, and I would ask that you would take the time to look at this and find out about Adam, and the charities amazing work that reflects Adam and his family in so many ways.

I have personally known Dom, Adam's brother for 15 years now (Eek!! Where has that time gone??), and throughout this time we have spent time with he and his family. They are always so loving, gracious, warm hearted and welcoming despite all that they have been through.

There are a few of us that have run this distance before, but we have a non-runner in our midst who will be putting in a huge amount of hard work to run 13 miles in the likely wet and windy north wales, up and down the Great Orme.

We all hugely support the work of Every Action Has Consequences and appreciate any donation that you are able to make, however small or large! AND- if you want to join us- please do! The more the merrier- all welcome :)
