London to Brighton Cycle Ride 2019 · 15 September 2019 ·

Team Little Hearts Matter are cycling from London to Brighton to support children with half a working heart.

Story

Little Hearts Matter exists because of the isolation, fear and lack of understanding created when a child is diagnosed as having half a working heart. Little Hearts Matter is a national charity that has been offering support and information to anyone affected by single ventricle heart disease since 1994.

You might have seen my cycling updates about the London to Brighton. It’s the last push and I’ve gone from not owning a bike when I signed up last year; when Harriet was in intensive care, to having all the gear and some idea.

LHM is a charity that has helped us with so many aspects of how we care and advocate for Harriet. They have literally saved her life with advice given and do so much with very little funding. They help so many families from diagnosis, operations, support growing up into adulthood and supporting families when they have lost a child.

They publish literature, have a website full of information, run a helpline and give advice for when families really need it after the hospitals have run out of ideas or can’t be reached.

In advance thank you. I’m flagging I’m the saddle a little so could do with some inspiration. 🚲

Much love #teamharriet
