My dad was given his lung cancer diagnosis in January 2020 and the next year was spent being so careful to avoid Covid, cancelling family events and missing extended family and friends.  However we spent close family time with him and done as much as we could to make more precious memories.  On January 17th 2021 my dad passed away with my brother, sister and myself by his side after having looked after him at home. This was the hardest time I have ever experienced in my life and the Hospice together with district nurses supported us through some very very difficult days. We as a family will be forever grateful and this is just a small way we can try to help them and indeed the families just like us they need to help in the future.
